CL Charlie and Willie George Park 

Located on the east side of Springdale, this park has a splash pad, a playground, and several baseball fields. It also features walking trails and a dog park.

The city’s newest park was made possible by a bond issue that residents approved in 2012 and a donation from the George family. It’s a great place to visit and enjoy the summer weather. Read on to know more.

Splash Pad

The Splash Pad at CL Charlie and Willie George Park Springdale AR is one of the city’s newest and best. It is a perfect place for kids to cool off and have fun on hot days.

It features a large play structure with a dump bucket, water slides, adventure river, spray features and 3 lap swim lanes. It is open daily from 9 a.m. to dark (Opens May 18th-Closes Sept. 15th).

The Park also has baseball, soccer and football fields, tennis courts, a dog park and paved walking trails. The park was made possible with a 2012 bond issue and a generous donation by the George family.

Playground

One of the main attractions at CL Charlie and Willie George Park is the playground. It is a huge area that features several zones rated for kids ages 5 to 12.

The park also has a splash pad, which is an excellent place for children to cool off on a hot day. However, it is recommended that children use sunscreen and other protection when playing in the water.

Baseball/Soccer/Football Fields

The baseball/soccer/football fields at CL Charlie and Willie George Park Springdale AR are a great place to enjoy outdoor recreation. This park features a lighted football field, lighted tennis courts, six soccer fields and four artificial turf baseball fields with concessions.

Chad Wolf, director of the Parks and Recreation Department, said he expects more people to visit Shaw Family Park as schools close for summer break. He also plans free events at the 120-acre park, such as a community cookout Saturday with representatives from the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission.

The park is located in the Fleming Drive neighborhood and offers an 18-hole disc golf course and paved hiking/biking trails that stretch for over 3 miles. There are also playground equipment and swing sets.

Dog Park

The dog park at CL Charlie and Willie George Park Springdale AR is a great place to take your dogs for a walk or to play. This park has a splash pad and is adjacent to the playground, baseball/soccer/football fields, and bike/walking trails. It is also within walking distance to the Hylton Place, a beautiful subdivision with craftsman style homes in a desirable location!

Cory Ralston, who moved into a home on Grand Valley Drive in the neighborhood across from the park, said he would likely use the dog park. He noted the park was scheduled to open this month, but it has been delayed. It will likely open November, city officials say.
